Rossini The Italian in Dubai

Kreissig updates Rossini’s “Italiana in Algiers” with wit and a genuine sense for comedy. Isabella longs for her fiancé Lindoro who works as a civil engineer in Dubai, always absent for many months.
The shipwreck of the original causes a plane crash on the runway, the pirates become business people.
With a rehearsal time of just three weeks he managed to create a highly complex and entertaining performance. Audience and press were equally enthusiastic about the performance of the team of young singers . 🙂

Venues around the audience

Kreissig makes use of the special spatial conditions of the Wildbader Kurhaus in this production. His singers conquer new venues in the side corridors and the gallery opposite the stage. The result is a Dolby surround dynamic, which keeps the audience from its usual state of consumerism.
The view has to wander to experience and to enjoy all the little details.
